Beaches, parks, mountains, historical monuments and first-class cuisine: Vitória is a real pearl that offers attractions for all tastes!

Anyone who thinks that the best destinations in the Southeast are only in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais is wrong. Espírito Santo, despite being small — it corresponds to the fourth smallest state in Brazil — has a lot to offer tourists and locals. Among its main attractions is Vitória, a city that is definitely worth visiting.

What makes the city so special

Charming and heavily wooded, Vitória is cosmopolitan and, at the same time, full of tradition. As it has been founded for many years, it is normal for there to be a mixture of old buildings (mainly concentrated in the city center) and modern constructions.

In 2015, it was considered the 2nd best city to live in Brazil by the United Nations (UN). One of the main reasons for this is that the capital, in addition to its beautiful view and attractions, still retains a certain quiet air of a small town, along with fair prices.

The beaches are among the main attractions of the city, but they are definitely not the only options, as you will see throughout this post. Getting around the Greater Vitória region is easy, with a lot of traffic being rare to reach a destination. For this reason, many people end up extending the tour, moving between Vitória, Vila Velha and even the famous resort of Guarapari.

For nightlife lovers, Vitória is also quite special. There, there is the popular region of the Triângulo das Bermuda, in Praia do Canto. It is there that the best bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the city are located.

Best time to visit Vitória

We have good news: Vitória is a capital that is able to receive tourists all year round. However, it is in the summer that the region is busiest, as the number of attractions, shows and sports tournaments increase.

There, hot days dominate and it is rarely cold: in winter, the average temperatures are between 18°C and 26℃ and, in summer, from 23°C to 30℃. The rainy season runs from October to January, with heavy rains usually falling in November.

Those who travel during the summer can enjoy the beaches well due to the periods of sun and heat. Those who want to get a little cold should take the opportunity to get to know the mountainous region of Espírito Santo, leaving Vitória towards Domingos Martins and Pedra Azul — great cities to enjoy a mild climate and Italian cuisine.
