April 25, 2024

Florianópolis International Airport – Hercílio Luz was elected the best airport in the country for the fourth consecutive time, in the most important award for the sector in Brazil, promoted by the National Civil Aviation Secretariat (SAC), through the Ministry of Ports and Airports. The terminal in the capital of Santa Catarina obtained the highest average of general passenger satisfaction, regardless of category, among the 20 largest airports surveyed throughout the year 2023. Florianópolis achieved a score of 4,74, on a scale that goes from 1 to 5. In second place, for the second consecutive year, is Vitória International Airport, also managed by Zurich Airport Brasil, with a score of 4,73. With this, Zurich Airport Brasil consolidates itself as the operator of the best airports in Brazil.

The “Aviação + Brasil 2024” awards ceremony took place this Thursday (25) in Brasília and recognized the airports that stood out in the quality of services provided to passengers. In total, more than 90 thousand users were interviewed. This is the fourth time that Florianópolis has won the award. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, the airport was also chosen as the best in Brazil in the evaluation of passengers.

The item commerce and services was highlighted in the evaluation of passengers in Florianópolis, with a score of 4,14 - the best performance among the airports surveyed, also on a scale that goes from 1 to 5. Boulevard 14/32, a leisure, shopping, services and gastronomy, located in front of the terminal, in addition to a commercial mix that includes major brands and local initiatives, played a fundamental role in the good evaluation of passengers. Another point that contributed significantly to Florianópolis Airport's achievement of first place is the cleanliness of the terminal, with a score of 4,78. In Vitória, the highlight was the comfort in the terminal, which received a score of 4,18, the highest in this category.

“We are tireless in seeking continuous improvement in our operations. In the last year, we have had a significant evolution in the commercial and service mix of the Floripa Airport, with the arrival of new stores and the transformation of Boulevard 14/32, the square in front of the terminal, into a pool of gastronomy and services. It is very gratifying to see that passengers and visitors recognize this effort”, says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil, who attended the awards ceremony in Brasília and received the trophies from Florianópolis and Vitória. Florianópolis received 2 trophies: Best Airport in Brazil and best airport in the category up to 5 million passengers.
Respondents evaluated 17 items of infrastructure, service and services, which involve the passenger experience and encompass airport processes, such as security inspection and services such as Wi-Fi, cleaning, thermal comfort, availability of outlets and audible warnings to passengers.

Since Zurich Airport Brasil took over the management of Florianópolis airport, the terminal has evolved rapidly in the overall passenger satisfaction ranking. In 2018, the year in which the Swiss group began managing the Santa Catarina terminal, the airport occupied last place on the list. In 2019, before the inauguration of the new terminal, Florianópolis received the “Highlight” award among the 20 airports, for being the airport that improved the most in the ranking and also the award for “Best Services Provided to Passengers”. From then on, the Floripa Airport consolidated itself at the top of the ranking.
